Augusta Exchange Chick-Fil-A Announces Drone Delivery
Is Chick-fil-A pulling a fast one or will this local Chick-fil-A have drones delivering meals to your front doorstep?
Well, it is April Fools Day! Chick-fil-A located in Augusta Exchange posted via Facebook that the location would be getting Drone Delivery and the comments aren’t going for it. All comments are calling this an April Fools post, but Chick-fil-A has yet to respond.
What Do You Think?
We know Chick-fil-A has rolled out the Delivery Robots, so this might not be too far behind. These robots can navigate through traffic, pedestrians, car and bike lanes, and even sidewalks. They are equipped with artificial intelligence and advanced depth perception cameras. Once you’re food arrives, you are sent a text when the robot has made it to your destination. It also lists the instructions on how to retrieve your food.
For Georgia, Chick-Fil-A in Alpharetta was the first to bring there food delivery to the next level. They held a ribbon-cutting ceremony back in June of 2023. They have also been testing these robots in California, Texas, and Florida.
Chick-Fil-A isn’t a Stranger to Drones
Yes, Chick-fil-A has tested Drone Delivery. Chick Fil A has partnered with DroneUp, a tech company based in Virginia, to offer meals by drone to its customers.
A Chick-fil-A located outside of Tampa, in Brandon, Florida announced in November of 2023 that they would be doing drone deliveries for a limited time with a zero-dollar delivery fee.
The service for the drone delivery is Monday through Friday from 10 am to 6 pm. The drone only delivers to a location within a 1.2-mile radius.
That so far has been the only indication of Drone delivery from Chick-fil-A.
I guess we will have to wait and see if Augusta will be next up with the Drone delivery – my gut is telling me it won’t be today.
Update: They have since deleted the post.
