Georgia Chick-Fil-A reveals Delivery Robot That will Bring Your food to You
It’s getting less and less uncommon to see a robot server, but what about a robot who leaves the restaurant to deliver your meal? We are certainly living in the future and possibly the future of delivery. Last week, a Georgia Chick-Fil-A held a ceremony to unveil a new delivery robot. The ribbon-cutting ceremony and live demonstration happened at its Avalon location in Alpharetta.
The robots are in partnership with Refraction AI. So the robots are equipped with artificial intelligence and cameras that allow them to understand traffic patterns, pedestrians, and how to maneuver through traffic.
These robots can enhance restaurant operations, cut delivery costs and provide quality food with the consistency our guests expect.
The robots also will keep food at the ideal temperature. Just like any delivery app, the delivery robots will update guests on their journey. The customer will receive a text once the robot has arrived with instructions on how to retrieve the Meal.
From the demonstration video, it seems you will have to put in a code, and the robot door will open for you to retrieve your food.
The robots have been rolled out in parts of Texas, Florida, and California.
Starting July 7, Georgia residents in Alpharetta could start seeing these robots traveling down the street.
