CSRA News: New Trial Date for Augusta Commissioner
A new trial date is set for suspended Augusta Commissioner Sammy Sias. The case against Sias, accused of lying to federal investigators and destroying documents related to his management of the Jamestown Community Center in Hephzibah, is set for July 26.
The case was to be heard late this month in U.S. District Court, but a judge agreed to a delay when prosecutors asked for more time.
Sias has been free on $50,000 bond after pleading not guilty to the allegations.
