NEWS: A Shooting Ban in Aiken County?
There was speculation Aiken City Council members might propose an ordinance that would end a homeowners right to shoot on their own property, but officials say that’s not going to happen.
Rumors of a shooting ban surfaced after Robin Mitchell was shot in her yard by a neighbor’s stray bullet during target practice.
Mitchell didn’t think it was done on purpose, but wanted officials to come up with a plan that would ensure accidents like that don’t happen again.
County officials say there are limits to what the county can do as far as gun regulation is concerned, adding there are no plans to consider a shooting ban in Aiken County.
