Fatality Reported In Georgia Due To Tropical Storm Michael
One person is dead in Georgia after Tropical Storm Michael traveled through the area.
According to AJC, the fatality occurred in the southwest part of the state.
The victim, an 11-year-old child, reportedly passed away after being struck by a falling tree while inside her home.
Emergency officials responded to the call for help in Seminole County, but unfortunately, they could not save her.
Damage is being reported across the state.
In Dougherty County, the majority of residences are without power.
Additionally, an estimated 300,000 homes are experiencing power outages across Georgia.
As the storm moves out of the area, crews will check on residents in areas hit hard by the storm and will assess the damage.

In North West Atlanta, a tree fell on top of a vehicle this morning, trapping a female passenger inside.
Firefighters arrived on scene shortly after the incident and worked to free the woman.
The woman was extricated from the car and rushed to the hospital.

She suffered internal injuries but was conscious during the ordeal.
Locally, there are several downed trees in the area but thankfully, no reports of fatalities.
