The 5 Best Beaches In South Carolina
The South Carolina Coast is one of the most popular vacation areas in the country. My 5 best beaches in South Carolina list includes some of the best beaches in America.
The Myrtle Beach area welcomes more than 19 million visitors each year alone along the Grand Strand. Myrtle has a little bit of everything and is the busiest during the tourist season. As a matter of fact, because of the golf, Myrtle Beach is now a year-round destination. There are over 90 golf courses, from championship courses to mini golf courses. Myrtle Beach is called the Golf Capitol of the World.
If you want more laid back, head north a few miles and experience the North Myrtle Beach area, including Cherry Grove, Windy Hill, Ocean Drive, and Crescent Beach. Driving south, you’ll find Surfside Beach, Garden City, Murrells Inlet, and Pawleys Island. Each small beach town has its vibe and is fun to explore.
One of my favorite beaches in South Carolina is Folly Beach, which has only one oceanfront hotel. While this beach town has grown, it still has that laid-back, small coastal town feel. You’ll find just about anything to eat, from dive diners to more upscale restaurants along the beach and downtown area.
