Augusta, What Would You Rate Your Solar Eclipse Experience?
Yesterday, the CSRA experienced a really cool sight during the afternoon. The solar eclipse graced us at totality around 3:08 pm. While our totality was only about 76%, it still was significantly darker outside than it had been just an hour before.
The Solar Eclipse was even more of a plus for Augusta because it occurred during a practice round for The Masters. Play was suspended due to this special moment. Players, caddies, and patrons all took a moment to gaze at the sky in their one-of-a-kind Masters Solar Eclipse glasses.
I was curious to know what the CSRA thought about the eclipse. Here are some of the Solar Eclipse reviews from Augusta Reddit community members around the area.
Response: Total eclipses are way better but I love how eerily overcast it got without a cloud in the sky.
Response: I forgot it was today, and I wasn’t aware we were in the ‘partial’ zone. I walked outside and everything just felt… off… not a cloud in the sky, but the brightness wasn’t blinding… felt very weird for a bit before it all clicked. I only walked out toward the end though, so it was already getting brighter.
Response: It was awesome
Response: It was fun. We all took a break at work and stood around outside, sharing some eclipse glasses some folks brought, talking about the eclipse and the last eclipse, and saying science stuff that was all probably wrong, lol. I went inside just after the peak and relieved some folks from answering the phones, etc., so they could enjoy it, too. Nice bonding moment, an interesting phenomenon.
My thoughts on the Solar Eclipse:
Seeing the moon cover almost all of the sun was definitely a sight to see! It was also an experience that I almost missed – I waited last minute to find the appropriate Solar Eclipse glasses and everywhere was practically sold out.
Going from place to place being told they were gone I started to I started to just accept the fact that i wouldn’t be able to actually see the moon and sun, but i should be able to at least see the it get a few shades darker outside.
