Child Run Over After Falling out of Car in Grovetown
A child was run over after falling out of a vehicle late this afternoon in Grovetown and was seriously injured.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office says the vehicle was going through the new Diverging Diamond Interchange on Lewiston Road at I-20 when the 4-year-old boy fell out of his mother’s vehicle. The Sheriff’s Office says the boy was then run over by the vehicle.
The child was taken to an area hospital where he is reported to be in the pediatric intensive care unit. His name and condition have not been made available.
The Sheriff’s Office says charges are pending, but no other information has been released yet.
