CSRA News: Bond Denied for Suspected Arsonist
Bond has been denied a suspected arsonist, in jail for over two years now.
Thirty nine year old Lawrence Brannen is accused of torching the house where he once lived in the 1700 block of Ellis Street. The blaze spread next door to the historic Hosannah Missionary Baptist Church which dates back to the late 1820s. Brannen’s lawyer asked for bond, saying his client poses no danger to the community. Superior Court Judge Flythe denied bail, but said he’ll move to get Brannen’s case on a trial calendar.
Thanks to Mary Liz Nolan of WGAC for the story.
