CSRA News: Teen Charged in Burke County High School Bomb Threat
A 16 year old boy is in Augusta’s Youth Detention Center after allegedly phoning in a bomb threat to Burke County High School on Thursday.
Sheriff’s investigators say a male called the school office shortly after 10:00 a.m. and said a bomb would detonate within 10 minutes.
The building was evacuated and searched with help from a Richmond County Bomb Squad, but students were back in their classrooms by early afternoon. The teen is charged with terroristic threats and disrupting a public school.
