CSRA News: Officer-Involved Deadly Shooting in Aiken County
An officer-involved deadly shooting is under investigation in Aiken County.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division says 34 year old Robert Wright of Augusta was shot and killed on Charleston Highway late Thursday morning. Authorities say it all started when U.S. Deputy Marshals tried to serve Wright with an arrest warrant at a hotel on Whiskey Road in Aiken. Wright reportedly fled from officers, leading them on a high speed chase that ended with the vehicles crashing into one another on Charleston Highway. The Deputy Marshals fired multiple shots at Wright, striking him several times. He died at the scene.
