A 14-year-old boy scout died on Monday after a tree fell on his tent while camping in Georgia.

Yesterday, storms rolled into the area while the Boy Scouts were at a nearby camp near Atlanta. The scouts went into their tents to seek shelter from the heavy rain and strong wind.

Sadly, a tree fell on one of the tents, striking the scout in the head and chest. Medics were called to the scene, but the teen succumbed to his injuries.

Miraculously, another scout was inside the same tent. That scout was not injured during the ordeal.

According to WISTV, nearly 60 trees fell in the area during the storm.

The teen who passed away is from Cypress, Texas.

He was on a scout trip at the Bert Adams Scout Camp at the time the incident occurred.
