New Clapton Doc Getting Limited Theater Run
We won’t have to wait until next year to see the new documentary Eric Clapton: Life In 12 Bars.
The film is slated to premiere February 10 on Showtime, but now Showtime Networks is partnering with Abramorama for a limited theater run starting November 24 in order for it to quality for Academy Award consideration. Directed by Lili Fni Zanuck, the career-spanning Life In 12 Bars debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival in September to wide acclaim, covering his troubled childhood, five-plus decade career and personal issues such as drug addictions and the death of his son.
The project had Clapton’s full blessing and participation.
In a statement, Abramorama President Richard Abramowitz says that, “The breadth of Eric Clapton’s career…is impossible to be true and yet Lili Fini Zanuck’s brilliant film makes it clear that it is. We’re very proud to start the holiday season with this gift to lovers of great music.”
