Dylan’s Handwritten “Like A Rolling Stone” Lyrics Up For Auction
Some of Bob Dylan‘s handwritten lyrics for his iconic 1965 anthem “Like A Rolling Stone” are going on the auction block.
Nate D. Sanders auctions has put up the sheet at its website, NateDSanders.com, with a starting price of $125,000; The auction runs through 8 p.m. EST on Friday (September 29).
The auction house says that the page, which also sports Dylan’s signature, has been authenticated by the icon’s manager and is in “near fine condition.”
The original four-page draft of Dylan’s lyrics for the song sold for more than $2 million in 2014, and the Sanders house notes that, “Apart from the original draft, these are the only known lyrics of ‘Like A Rolling Stone’ that have been offered at auction.”
Dylan begins a North American tour on October 13 in Valley Center, Calif., and releases a new box set, Trouble No More — The Bootleg Series Vol. 13/1979-1981, covering the three albums Dylan recorded after embracing Christianity, on November 3.
