New Springsteen Bootleg Benefiting Hurricane Relief Efforts
Bruce Springsteen is doing his part for hurricane relief — with music.
The Boss has released a December 8, 1978 concert at The Summit in Houston via his official bootleg series, with proceeds earmarked for the MusiCares Hurricane Relief Fund for victims of recent weather crises in Texas and Florida. A video of the concert was part of the 2010 box set The Promise: The Darkness on the Edge of Town Story, but this marks its first release as a standalone audio recording.
The setlist includes early version of three tracks that would subsequently appear on “The River” — “The Ties That Bind,” “Independence Day” and “Point Blank” — as well as “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” and the 1978 tour’s extended version of “Prove It All Night.”
The show is now available via Live.Springsteen.net.
