Discover some of the country’s coolest aquariums that are flooded with phenomenal fishes and exotic deep sea creatures.
Take a trip to some of these top aquariums where you can get up close and personal to diverse marine life. According to the Travel Channel, you’ll be amazed.
National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland
According to the National Aquarium’s site, they are home to more than 20,000 fish, birds, amphibians, reptiles and marine mammals living in award-winning habitats. If you’re not able to make it Maryland, no worries, they’ve set up some very cool LIVE cameras so you can watch Jelly Fish, the Blacktip Reef exhibit, and a Pacific Coral Reef exhibit.
Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, Georgia
The Georgia Aquarium is a “must visit” for any fan of the sea. They offer “sleepovers!” That’s right. You and your friends can get the full hook up and sleep in front of one of their magnificent gallery windows. Talk about a visit you’ll never forget.

New York Aquarium in Brooklyn, New York
Right in the heart of the Big Apple is a little slice of sea life. Even though the aquarium is undergoing some construction, the slight disruptions will be worth the wait! When complete, the new 57,000-square-foot building will be home to the Ocean Wonders: Sharks! exhibit. In the meantime, it’s never a bad idea to stop by and visit the adorable otters.
Audubon Aquarium of the Americans in New Orleans, Louisiana
Not only is New Orleans home to great music, food, history but the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas. The aquarium offers packages that have you getting in the water and SCUBA diving or snorkeling in the Aquarium’s Great Maya Reef! They also offer a behind the scenes tour of their sea otter exhibit. That is some serious fun.
Newport Aquarium in Newport, Kentucky
Beware of the sharks! This aquarium offers a path that only the brave will follow. A Shark Bridge is a suspended rope bridge that you can walk across, only inches away from two dozen sharks. Just thinking about it makes me scared. If you’re a bit more of the cautious type, you can head over to the Seahorses: Unbridled Fun exhibit at check out the seahorses, sea dragons, trumpetfish, shrimpfish and pipefish.
