New Medical Equipment Service Opens in North Augusta After Dana’s Recovery Room Closes Down
Now, the operation runs under a new name and location in Immanuel Baptist Church in North Augusta. The location will open every Wednesday from noon to 4 p.m. for equipment distribution and donations, helping people when regular insurance doesn’t cover their needs.
“I just say it was a God thing, […] it’s made it a lot easier for me that it’s still going to be done,” Sandra Nuss told WDRW-TV, thinking about how her mission lives on through this new center.
Nuss began the organization in honor of her daughter, who had leukemia. Her simple effort turned into something impactful, getting essential medical equipment – from crutches and canes to walkers and wheelchairs – to local people at no cost.
Interim Healthcare’s administrator, Cutter Mitchell, stepped up when the closure was imminent. “This is a vital resource for the community that I saw. If it goes away, not only are my patients in trouble and other patients of the agencies we work with and partners, but this is going to be a big hit.” Mitchell told WRDW-TV.
Anyone who needs help or wants to donate to Cutter’s Resource Closet can check Interim Healthcare of Augusta’s website or look for updates on their Facebook page.
