These are the top news stories in the CSRA on Monday, February 14, 2022.

• Walmart Mask Mandate

  A mask mandate has ended for fully vaccinated Walmart employees.

  The change in policy comes as several states are beginning to lift their mask mandates.

  Effective immediately, fully vaccinated workers no longer have to wear masks at any Walmart or Sam’s Club facility, unless there’s a local or state mandate in effect.

  The company is also ending its daily health screenings as well as paid Covid-19 leave.

• Home Invasion

  Richmond County authorities are looking for a woman in connection with a home invasion this morning.

  Twenty one year old Kashmyn “Kash” Gilbert is black, 5”3 and weighs 125 pounds.  Authorities say she should be considered armed and dangerous.

• Missing Woman

  A Richmond County woman was reported missing over the weekend.

  Twenty three year old Kaya Walker was last seen Sunday in the 2000 block of Ellis Street around 1:30 p.m.

  Walker is black and was last seen wearing a fur jacket, blue jeans and fur boots.

  Authorities say she left her home on foot without her cell phone.  Call the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at 706-821-1020 or 706-821-1080 if you have seen her.

• Accident in Edgefield County

  One person died in a single vehicle accident Sunday in Edgefield County.

  The South Carolina Highway Patrol says it happened around 6:15 p.m. on Highway 430 near Country Place Road.

  A Truck veered off the road and hit several trees.

  The driver reportedly had minor injuries, but a passenger in the vehicle died at the scene.  No other information has been released yet.

• Rising Gas Prices

  Gas prices climbed, on average, another nine cents a gallon last week in Georgia.

  The average in the state is now $3.33 a gallon for regular unleaded.  That’s 22 cents more than last month and $1.01 more than at this time last year.

  Crude oil prices set new highs on Friday amid concerns over how a potential Russian invasion of Ukraine could result in sanctions on Russian oil, which could make the oil market even tighter than it currently is.

  Industry officials say Georgians can expect gas prices to remain high for awhile.
