Georgia, also known as the “Hollywood of the South” has become one of the top filming locations in the United States. As you’re reading this, there are movies being filmed in Georgia right now. There are a few reasons that production companies tend to like when it comes to filming in Georgia. Firstly, Georgia has a very diverse geography, moderate climate, and modern amenities. Secondly, which is a huge plus for these companies, is that back in May 2008 the Entertainment Industry Investment Act was signed into law by then-governor, Sonny Perdue. This revision is still one of the most generous among the states when it comes to its production-friendly tax incentives. This also allowed filmmakers to settle down in Georgia and open film studios there.
