Can we talk for just a minute?  Let’s Be Honest Home Made Ice Cream Is Just The Best.  This time of the year, it’s even better.  In the heat of the summer, nothing beats ice cream.

One of my fondest memories as a child was taking the old-time ice cream maker out on the back porch and churning ice cream.  These were not the electric ice cream makers we have today. I remember taking turns with my brothers and sisters cranking the handle.  Mom would make the ice cream and Dad would watch and make sure we kept the rock salt applied and made sure we didn’t stop cranking the handle.

Technology today really does make it easier to make ice cream.  You can just plug an ice cream maker in the kitchen and boom ice cream.  You can even make it in the freezer.  So many ways to make it today.  So what makes homemade ice different?  The recipes you use of course.

As you know almost all of the recipes start with a base of milk, sugar, and whipping cream.  It’s from this point that goodness starts.  We all know that vanilla and chocolate are the easiest to make.  Let’s have some fun with it now.

So as you can see, the options are endless as to how you can make the best homemade ice cream ever.  Just find you a good base to start with and then from there, it’s game on.  Mix and match or add till you find what works for you.
