Goodwill of Middle Georgia and CSRA threw open its doors for the Masters week sale on April 6. Shoppers had queued up before 8 a.m. at three spots across town. The stores on Walton Way and Washington Road in Augusta, plus Knox Avenue in North Augusta, stocked donated golf shirts, cups, bags, hats, cookbooks, books, and flags.

By 9:10 a.m., most merchandise had vanished.

Amber Roberson and her friends arrived at 4:47 a.m. to stake their claim outside the Washington Road spot. This marked her fourth year attending the sale.

"The first time we just walked in and saw all the Masters stuff, and we were like this is so cool," Roberson said, per Post and Courier.

Haley Wesley works as associate vice president of marketing and brand advancement at Goodwill of Middle Georgia and CSRA. She explained that 86 cents of each dollar spent returns to the organization's mission, funding programs that help people in the area.

Revenue from clothing sales and purchases at Edgar's Bakehouse supports education, job training, and work opportunities. Every golf item came through donations to the thrift store.

The sale returns each year during the same week as the Masters Tournament.
