The Books Tavern celebrates the released of local author Rebecca Harper's new book "Write From the Beginning, Grades K-5: 42 Joyful Lessons to Foster Skilled Writers Every Day" with a book signing and moderated discussion with the author.

Dr. Harper blends standards-based instruction with innovative strategies and techniques to guide and inspire would-be writers and storytellers. She is a Professor of Literacy at Augusta University and the author of four previous books.

The World Ballet Company's "The Great Gatsby" is a dazzling performance that brings Fitzgerald's classic novel to life. This world premiere, featuring 40 elite dancers from over 10 countries, blends Ilya Zhivoy's dynamic choreography with Anna Drubich's original jazz-inspired score. Decadent sets, glamorous costumes, and multimedia effects evoke the spirit of 1920s New York. The dancers' body language, with flourishes of period styles such as the Charleston and tango, communicates themes of wealth, love, and betrayal.
