I met James Brown several times, and he was always a gentleman. I could instantly tell I was in the presence of greatness.
Once, I was in the restaurant at the Doubletree in Augusta, where JB had his own booth, and we saw him there. I knew his manager and stopped by to say hello. As they were leaving, Mr.Brown chatted with us and signed copies of his CD to give to everyone at our table. After they left, his manager returned and told us Mr. Brown took care of our tab. It’s a great memory for me.
