Massive Recall of Over-the-Counter Medications at Family Dollar Stores, Including Georgia
A voluntary medication recall of hundreds of over-the-counter drugs and medical devices has begun at Family Dollar Stores in nearly two dozen states, including Georgia.
The Food and Drug Administration says the items were stored outside of labeled temperature requirements by Family Dollar. And the items were inadvertently shipped to certain stores on or around June 1, 2023 through September 21, 2023. The affected items were sold at those stores between June 1, 2023 and October 4, 2023.
Family Dollar has asked affected stores to check their stock immediately and discontinue the sale of any affected product. Some of the manufacturers of the recalled products include Alka Seltzer, Bayer, Benadryl, Claritin, Colgate, Crest, Dove, Pepsid and Tylenol.
The recall applies to 23 states, including Georgia. The others are Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
Customers who purchased the affected products do not have to have a receipt. Just return it to the point of purchase for a full refund.
