Augusta School has the Highest Literacy Scores in Georgia for 2023 School Year
As of Wednesday, September 20, C.T. Walker Magnet School has been recognized as Literacy Leaders in the state of Georgia. The students scored the highest scores in the entire state. The school is the first school in Richmond County to receive the Literacy Leaders recognition. They even got a banner to showcase their new title.
C.T. Walker is an elementary school and middle school based in Augusta. They offer kindergarten through fifth grade, along with sixth through eighth grade.
To receive this recognition, schools are being recognized for their English Language Arts scores on the 2022-2023 Georgia Milestones Assessment.
C.T. Walker, along with 154 other schools, met the qualification of becoming literacy leaders. They were also one of 70 schools to receive achievement recognition for their scores.
Just earlier this month C.T. Walker was also recognized as a part of the Top National and State Rankings. They ranked number 24 among Georgia elementary schools and number 50 among middle schools in the state.
A.R. Johnson Magnet School landed at number 24 in the state.
Outside of Richmond County, Greenbrier High School in Columbia County, came in at number 47.
