Last month, Final Cut of Augusta, was a surprising loss for the area. Before Final Cut, the Petersburg Shoppes building was occupied by a BI-LO supermarket from 1999 to 2019. Could an Augusta food hall be next?

Final Cut was known across the nation for its low budget Anthropolgie-like clothing. For example, Urban Outfitters, Free People, and BHLDN where common to din in store, along with other affordable designer names.

Now, there are talks of what could be next to occupy the space.

The location currently has signs at each of the shopping center’s two entrances reading “Coming Soon Fury’s Ferry Hardware.”

According to the Augusta Chronicle,

The still-vacant property is represented by Jordan Trotter Real Estate, who said August 18 that “all deals with tenants are still in the early stages and we are not at liberty to discuss.”

While the location has signs up of a future hardware store, there has said to been negations about a mini food hall also using a portion of the space.

What is a Food Hall?

A Food hall is like a modern cafeteria where people can choose from multiple food spots to dine at in a common area. They are very similar to a food court, but usually offer multicultural cuisines.

Currently, one of the closest food halls near the CSRA is a location in Midtown Atlanta. It is called The Collective Food Hall.

They currently have 6 unique spots located in the food hall.

  • Smokin’ Hot Grill is inspired be NYC and Italy.
  • Aviva by Kameel Mediterranean Grill serves authentic Mediterranean Cuisine.
  • El Burro Pollo serves Burritos and other Mexican cuisine.
  • Poke Burri serves poke bowls, sushi burritos, and even sushi donuts.
  • By Weight & Measure is cocktail spot that crafts their cocktails using chemistry.
  • Humble Mumble is a handmade sandwich shop.

What kind of cuisine do you think a food hall in Augusta would showcase? Either way – it could be a nice new addition to the CSRA.
