City of Augusta to Host Public Meeting for Comprehensive Plan 5 Year Update
Wednesday, July 19, 2023 – Augusta Georgia’s Planning and Development Department is hosting a public meeting to discuss the Department’s Comprehensive Plan 5- Year Update.
What will This Meeting be About?
This report is called “Envision Augusta”. It will include information on Augusta’s plans for housing, traffic, and community development.
The Envision Augusta Comprehensive Plan is meant to be a living document that reflects the changes happening within Augusta.
The document also addresses issues regarding transportation, economic development, cultural and natural resources, and land use in a coordinated manner and serves as a guide for how:
o Land will be developed
o Housing will be made available
o Jobs will be attracted and retained
o Recreational facilities will be improved
o Public services and facilities will be provided
The current Comprehensive Plan was last updated in 2018 and focused on growth and land development through 2030.
