Sad news out of Kentucky this morning.  Two United States Army helicopters crashed during training on Wednesday night.  The crash happened along the Kentucky-Tennessee border.  Casualties have been reported.

According to the NY Times, the crash happened around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.  It was part of a routine training mission between two HH-60 Black Hawk assault helicopters. The crash is under investigation. In a tweet from the 101st Airborne Division, it says there were several casualties, but there are currently no additional details.

The 101st Airborne Division is based at Fort Campbell, and it’s the Army’s only air assault division.

While a Black Hawk helicopter can transport 11 people, there are no details about how many people were actually onboard the two helicopters involved.
