In a press release from Fort Gordon, they announced a week-long preparedness exercise that will begin on Monday, March 13.  The "all-hazards-response-exercise, Viper Gold," will last through Friday, March 17.

Visitors and workers coming into Fort Gordon should expect increased security measures and possible delays when entering or exiting. There may also be warning sirens and announcements throughout the week, which will be prefaced by "Exercise - Exercise - Exercise."

Various locations at Fort Gordon are subject to scenarios to exercise preparedness and response capabilities.

It's important to do exercises of this nature routinely to ensure preparedness, and knowledge to face challenges that come with Army training.

All personnel and community members at Fort Gordon are asked to be patient while this training takes place.  But also to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity. Any suspicious activity or emergency situation should be reported.  You can do so by calling 911, while on base, it will route to Fort Gordon's 911 call center.
