Lidl Recalling Advent Calendars due to Potential Salmonella Contamination
If you purchased an Advent calendar from Lidl, it may be on the recall list. The 8.4 ounce Favorina-brand Advent calendars sold at Lidl stores across the country are being recalled due to potential salmonella contamination. The issue was found during routine testing done by the discount grocer.
The affected calendars were sold between October 12 and December 5 and have a “best if used by” date of 2023.
Customers who purchased the product should return it to the closest Lidl store for a refund.
There have been no reports of illnesses related to the recalled calendars, but consumers should be aware that salmonella can cause serious and even fatal infections, especially in those with weakened immune systems.
Symptoms of salmonella contamination include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
