Former South Carolina Attorney Charged with Murder
Alex Murdaugh, a former South Carolina attorney, has been charged with murder, according to Fox News. Murdaugh’s wife, Maggie, 52, and their son Paul, 22, were killed on June 7, 2021. They were found shot to death outside the family home in Colleton County.
South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson made the announcement after a Colleton County Grand Jury indicted Murdaugh. The indictment is for 2 counts of murder and 2 counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
Murdaugh has been behind bars, facing more than 80 criminal charges. Charges range from lying to police, money laundering, stealing money from clients, and even attempting to arrange his own death.
