CSRA News: Columbia County Jailer Arrested
A Columbia County jailer was arrested late Friday after authorities say they discovered he was allegedly giving inmates contraband items.
Thirty year old Jack Hayes has been a deputy jailer with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office for nearly three years. An investigation began recently when they got a tip that drugs and a cellphone had been brought into the facility.
In addition to charging Hayes with giving inmates items without consent, he was also charged with violation of oath by a public officer.
