CSRA News: Suspect Named in Aiken Murder
Aiken County authorities have named a suspect in the shooting death of a man early last month in Graniteville.
Deputies found the body of Jairo Martinez in a home on Ascauga Lake Road while doing a welfare check January 3. He died from at least one gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Investigators say 55 year old Clemente Roman Cruz of Graniteville left the scene in Martinez’ truck, which was found later in Columbia.
Cruz is still being sought. He’s Hispanic, 5”4 and weighs 150 pounds. Authorities say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Call the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office if you have any information at (803) 648-6811.
