Stacker took a look at things to do in Georgia on Tripadvisor and put together a list of the highest rated things!
Augusta made the list three times!
At number 14 out of 30, you’ve got the Riverwalk! As a “historic walking area” it was rated 4 out of 5 on Tripadvisor. As a free attraction, it definitely is a beautiful spot with great scenery.
At number 12, you have the Augusta Canal Discovery Center with a 4.5 out of 5 rating. If you haven’t been, it’s worth checking out. They offer guided canal boat tours, plus the interactive museum shares the history of Augusta’s 1845 canal and the industrial revolution.
And last, but definitely not least, you probably expected this one to show up! At number 9, you’ve got the Masters! It ranked a 5 out of 5 on Tripadvisor. Even for people who are not familiar with Augusta, know us for the Masters Tournament! It draws a huge crowd every year.
Other highest ranked Georgia attractions:
As mentioned before, you’ve got a range of options in Georgia- whether it’s beaches, mountains or somewhere in between!
Lake Oconee came in at number 8 on the list, which isn’t TOO far from Augusta and would make a fun day trip!
Tybee Island and Savannah also made the list with a few interesting places to check out. Savannah is overall just an interesting city to check out for the deep, fascinating history! And Tybee Island of course has the beach!
And for the mountains, you’ve got the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Georgia that are absolutely stunning. You also have Anna Ruby Falls— a beautiful waterfall in Helen, Georgia. Helen is another really fun town if you’ve never been!
The number one attraction on Stacker’s list?
The Atlanta Botanical Garden! It has a 4.5 out of 5 rating… with over 5,000 reviews on Tripadvisor.
While Augusta is ranked among the most stressed cities in the U.S., you have to admit we do have some amazing, beautiful places around town! If we were adding to this list, just focusing on Augusta… we’d have to add: Phinizy Swamp, the Greeneway, Brick Pond Park, and the Savannah Rapids!
