Family Photo Traveled Over 150 Miles in Tornado
Many families have lost everything due to the tornadoes that hit over the weekend.
Lives were lost, and rescue teams are still combing through the rubble.
But through all of the bad, some good does exist!
A woman in Indiana found a photo on her car windshield on Saturday morning. The photo was in black and white, featuring a woman and little boy. Written in cursive on the back: “Gertie Swatzell & J.D. Swatzell 1942.”
The woman who found the photo, Katie Posten, quickly took to social media to share and hopefully find the owners.
And the power of social media took over! Many people shared it across Facebook, with someone coming across a man with the same last name.
Cole Swatzell commented that it belonged to family members of his in Dawson Springs, Kentucky– over 150 miles from where Posten found it! She plans to return the photo to the family sometime this week.
