This is the second death to hit UB40 this year. In August, saxophonist and founding member Brian Travers died at the age of 62 from complications due to cancer.
UB4o is best known for their string of top-ten hits in the late ’80s and early ’90s which included “Here I Am (Come And Take Me),” “The Way You Do The Things You Do,” “Can’t Help Falling In Love” and “Red Red Wine.” The latter two songs both topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1993 and 1988, respectively.
