Kurt Cobain and Alex Van Halen items were among some of the top bid earners at Julien's Auctions' recent "Music Icons" event.
Per Julien's, Cobain's self-portrait caricature was estimated to sell for between $10,000 - $20,000, but after 21 bids, it ended up selling for $281,250.
Meanwhile, Alex Van Halen's 1980 Invasion Tour Ludwig Drum Set sold for $230,000.
Julien's said in a press release that over 1,000 items went up for bid during their June 11-13 "Music Icons" event. In total, the auction brought in nearly $5 million.
