David Lee Roth Pays Tribute to Eddie Van Halen
David Lee Roth took to social media to pay tribute to Eddie Van Halen following news of the guitarist’s passing.
Roth shared a photo of him and Van Halen together with the simple caption, “What a long great trip it’s been…”

Roth sings on seven of Van Halen’s 12 studio albums: 1978’s Van Halen, 1979’s Van Halen II, 1980’s Women and Children First, 1981’s Fair Warning, 1982’s Diver Down, 1984’s 1984 and 2012’s A Different Kind of Truth. Roth’s tenure with Van Halen spanned from 1974-1985, a brief reunion in 1996 and then from 2007 to the present day.
Van Halen passed away today (October 6) following a bout with cancer at the age of 65. I love you so much, Pop.”
