On Monday (Jan. 13), the 2020 Oscar nominations were announced, and fans of the actress Lupita Nyong’o, including author Roxane Gay, think that she was snubbed.

Many fans referenced Nyong’o’s “two masterful” characters that she portrayed in Jordan Peele’s Us.

In the 2020 Oscar category for “Leading Actress,” Cynthia Erivo (Harriet), Scarlett Johansson (Marriage Story), Saoirse Ronan (Little Women), Charlize Theron (Bombshell), and Renee Zellweger (Judy) were nominated.
