Kirk Hammett, Robert Trujillo Performing in Covers Gig in Canada
This is kind of a weird one: Metallica’s Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo have signed on to perform in a cover band at a July 26 show in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada.
The show’s venue is located at the Cosmopolitan Music Hall inside Cosmo Music, which is the single largest musical instrument store in North America. Hammett and Trujillo will be joined by Whitfield Crane and Joey Castillo, and they will perform under the name The Wedding Band and play covers of classic songs from AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Billy Idol and more.
The event page for the show features a lot of information about Hammett’s new Signature ESP guitar, including the opportunity to meet Hammett if you buy one of the guitars which he’ll then sign. Perhaps the whole show is to promote this new guitar.
