Woodstock 50 tickets were slated to go on sale today (April 22), but the sale date has now been postponed.

An official statement as to why the on-sale date was postponed has not been released, but Pitchfork reports organizers have yet to secure a mass gathering permit from the New York State Department of Health for the Watkins Glen International Speedway.

The postponement of the ticket sale date has led to some speculating that Woodstock 50 will be canceled altogether. This, however, has led to Woodstock co-founder/Woodstock 50 organizer Michael Lang to tell Billboard“Woodstock is a phenomenon that for fifty years has drawn attention to its principles and also the rumors  that can be attached to that attention.” He then called the cancelation buzz “just more rumors.”

This isn’t the first bit of controversy for Woodstock 50. In February, there were rumors of financial issues and how artists booked had not been paid in full yet. Due to Woodstock 50 not partnering with a major promoter, like Live Nation or AEG, the various agencies representing the artists on the bill are requiring being paid in full before the festival. However, by March 4, all artists on the bill had been paid in full.
