POLL: Who’s the Best Fictional Rush Fan?
Rush fans are among the most dedicated in all of rock so much so that their fandom has been immortalized on TV and in film.
In film, 2009’s I Love You, Man featured the Rush bromance of Peter Klaven (Paul Rudd) and Sydney Fife (Jason Segel) and birthed the phrase, “Slappin da bass!”

On TV, The Goldbergs features Johnny Atkins (Sean Marquette), a quasi-mysterious rebel/nerd that’s always wearing Rush t-shirts. He inexplicably wears eleven different Rush concert tees in tonight’s (February 20) episode airing at 8 PM EST on ABC.
The clip below shows Atkins in a previous episode introducing Erica Goldberg (Hayley Orrantia) to the wonder that is Rush and seducing her in the process.
UPDATE 02/21/2019 3:30 PM EST: After being emailed by a reader named Randy, Bubbles, Julian and Ricky from Trailer Park Boys has been added to the poll.
In episode five of season three, Ricky poses as Alex Lifeson’s guitar tech to get access to his hotel room in order to score some Rush tickets. When Lifeson says he wasn’t able to give him any tickets, Ricky kidnaps Lifeson and take him back to the trailer park. (NSFW language ahead.)

Earlier in the episode, Bubbles ends up losing a radio contest where the prize was getting to be Lifeson’s guitar tech for a night. After a number of insane mishaps, Bubbles ends of being Lifeson’s guitar tech after all and gets to jam on “Closer to the Heart” with Lifeson back at the trailer park.
But which fictional fan is the best? Vote in the poll below!
