Rod Stewart on Working with Jeff Beck Again: “I’m up for it if he’s up for it.”
Well, here’s something that will surely give a lot of hope to fans looking to see Rod Stewart and Jeff Beck work together again.
Stewart was asked in a recent interview with Rolling Stone on whether it’s possible for he and Beck to put aside their differences and work together again. Stewart gave the surprising response of, “Well, my voice and his guitar is a match made in heaven. It would be a lovely thing to do. It’d be a complete lefthand turn. We did try it once, but we couldn’t see eye to eye — I mean, a serious clash of egos, but you know, never say never. I know it’s a cliché, but really, I’m up for it if he’s up for it. The thing is, we both want to produce. That’s the thing.”
Stewart and Beck, of course, famously worked together from 1967-69 in The Jeff Beck Group. So far, Beck has yet to comment about Stewart’s statement, but we’re sure fans will eagerly await a response.
