Trash Pickup In Aiken Has Been Suspended Due To Hurricane Michael

Residents in Aiken will have to wait to have their trash picked up due to Hurricane Michael.

Those who normally have trash pickup on Thursday, October 11 will have to wait until Friday, October 12 for services to resume.

According to WFXG, the city is asking everyone to secure outdoor trash bins, or anything on their property that could become airborne during the storm.

Hurricane Michael is expected to arrive in Georgia this evening and should pass through the area by tomorrow morning.

The storm is currently about an hour away from making landfall in the Florida Panhandle, and is classified as a Category 4 hurricane.
