Dave Grohl Appearing on ‘Kimmel’
In the wake of the announcement of his new documentary Play, Dave Grohl will be gracing our television sets to promote the venture.
Grohl is set to appear on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight (August 2) where he’ll also discuss the upcoming Cal Jam 18 taking place October 5-6 in San Bernardino, Calif.
Grohl announced the release of Play yesterday (August 1), which focuses on the making of an epic 23-minute song where Grohl plays all of the instruments. The two-part documentary is slated for release on August 10 and was inspired by the music lessons his own children take.
“When I take my kids to the place where they take their lessons, I see these rooms full of children that are really pushing themselves to figure this out,” said Grohl in a statement. “And even now, as a 49-year-old man, I’m still trying to figure it out… it’s not something that you ever truly master. You’re always chasing the next challenge, and you’re always trying to find a way to improve on what you’ve learned.”
The first part of the documentary will focus on the behind-the-scenes action of prepping for Grohl’s 23-minute musical marathon song, while the second part is the performance of the song itself.
Play is currently available for pre-order.
