Sir Paul Scolds Crowd For Not Obeying Cell Phone Rules
We can understand the temptation of being at the Cavern Club to see Paul McCartney and wanting to snap a few cell phone photos, but if you’re lucky enough to be at that show, respect the damn rules!
Macca performed a show at the Liverpool club last night (July 26), in which the crowd was asked not to take photos. Per NME, McCartney stopped in the middle of his cover of Eddie Cochran’s “Twenty Flight Rock” and told the crowd, “You’ve all been told not to take photos. You’re taking them, and you’re taking, and it’s putting me off! So, you know, play by the rules, man!”
A review of the show touched on the moment and said, “It had the feeling of a parent scolding their children then instantly feeling guilty. And for the crowd, it felt like being in Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory: invited into a wonderland and being too tempted to scoff the lot.”
Sir Paul recalled to the crowd after he finished playing “Twenty Flight Rock,” “The phone thing, I went to a Prince concert and he really was serious about that, he wouldn’t start, you know. Put ‘em down! You know what I’m saying?”
Hey…at least he didn’t go full Peter Frampton and just start throwing phones!
