Bad News Just Surfaced For “Roseanne” Fans
“Roseanne” is no more …
According to The Wrap and various other publications, the hit show on ABC has officially been canceled.
The news follows a now retracted tweet issued by Roseanne Barr about Valerie Jarrett.
Backlash quickly followed the tweet, as many found it to be offensive and racist in nature.
After issuing the tweet, Barr apologized and proclaimed she was quitting twitter.
Unfortunately, her apology was not enough to keep ABC from yanking the show right out from under her.
Star Sara Gilbert was also quick to voice her disapproval over Roseanne’s tweet.
Roseanne’s recent comments about Valerie Jarrett, and so much more, are abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show. I am disappointed in her actions to say the least.

Sara also issued a tweet in response to the show being canceled.
This is incredibly sad and difficult for all of us, as we’ve created a show that we believe in, are proud of, and that audiences love— one that is separate and apart from the opinions and words of one cast member.

So long, “Roseanne.”
Do you think the decision to cancel the show based off of Roseanne’s tweet is fair to fans and to the other cast members?
