Eagles News Round-Up: ‘Hotel California’ Back On The Charts, More Tour Dates Announced
The Eagles continue to pile songs onto its 2018 itinerary, with another 13 dates just added.
The tour currently kicks off on March 12 in Indianapolis and currently runs through July 28 in Philadelphia — including stadium dates with Jimmy Buffett, James Taylor and Chris Stapleton. West Coast shows are expected as well for the late summer and early fall. The newly announced dates include stops in Kansas City, Nashville, Columbus (Ohio), Lexington (Kentucky), Charlotte And Raleigh (N.C.), Columbia (S.C.), Birmingham (Ala.), Vancouver, Houston, Buffalo, Toronto and Pittsburgh.
The group’s lineup will again include the late Glenn Frey’s son Deacon and Vince Gill, and Joe Walsh tells us he’s particularly enjoying having Gill be part of the band these days:
“Between you and me, it’s terrifying. He’s that good. But he says I make him nervous, too, so it works really good…Boy, he plugged right in with the vocals and, of course, y’know, we’ve got a pretty good lineup across the front of the stage in terms of guitar players, and it’s working really, really well.”
…In other news, the group’s landmark Hotel California album has returned to the Billboard 200 chart at No. 44 thanks to a new 40th anniversary deluxe edition. The set sold 15,000 units in its first week out, a 1,424 percent increase from the weak prior to its release.
