Neil Young on Working with Willie Nelson’s Sons on His New LP
Out today (December 1) is The Visitor, the 39th studio album from Neil Young.
It marks the second album Young has recorded with Promise of the Real, which features Willie Nelson‘s sons Lukas and Micah and previously worked with Young on 2015’s The Monsanto Years and the 2016 live album Earth.
Young tells us it’s been an exciting collaboration:
“They’re great players. They’re seasoned way beyond their years. There’s nothing different except I really enjoy playing with them, and there’s no barriers…They’re a completely unique organization. They’ve got the Nelsons, who have an incredible history and have just grown up in a fantastic musical environment. Then the people they like to play with are the same way, the same sensitivity. These guys are all first-class musicians that are just regular people that play really great.”
Also today Young has established a new Archive service online that will offer all of his recordings — free, for the moment — in high-definition audio.
