Gene Simmons Issues Statement On Fox News Ban
Gene Simmons is trying to, er, kiss and make up with Fox News.
The KISS co-founder was reportedly banned for the rest of his life from the network after an uninvited and, by all accounts, vulgar invasion of a staff meeting before a planned appearance of Fox & Friends to promote his new book, On Power.
Simmons — who reportedly bared his chest, shouted “Hey chicks, sue me!,” made jokes about pedophilia and playfully hit two staffers their heads with books — has issued a statement reading, “I have appeared frequently over the years on various Fox News and Fox Business programs and have a tremendous amount of respect for the talented women and men who work there. While I believe that what is being reported is highly exaggerated and misleading, I am sincerely sorry that I unintentionally offended members of the Fox team during my visit.”
Fox has not commented on the apology, nor has it acknowledged the widely reported lifetime ban on Simmons.
